Kristin Boles was born in 1977 and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She grew up spending her spare time between sneaking under the neighbor’s fence to play in their wide open land with the neighborhood kids or drawing for hours on end.

As a long-time resident of Sierras, she still relishes in nature’s less traveled spaces and painting until her heart’s content. Her landscapes and figures are infused with the natural elements she is immersed in, the light, reflections, wildlife, and the sense of calm that natural beauty brings. Her favorite mediums include oil, watercolor, and charcoal.

Kristin earned her MFA in Traditional 2-D Illustration in 2007 from the Academy of Art in San Francisco. Since then, she has spent time painting, spurring on local artists as an adjunct professor at Lake Tahoe Community College, raising her two children, practicing interior design, and running free in the mountains.
